1. Stress Free Zone:
When planning a hen night, or hen weekend,
make sure to make it as stress free as possible. The bride-to-be
will already be stressed up to her eyeballs, so you will want to try
and help alleviate her anxieties. Stay organized and in constant
communication with all those involved making sure to obtain
everyone’s contact information and to keep it handy in case of any
last minute changes.
2. Suiting the Hen:
Make sure that you are
planning an
event that will be enjoyable to the hen. There are plenty of
vouchers available for a day at a spa, weekend retreats to the
beach, or even ski resorts - that is if you fancy travelling.
Planning events that will not embarrass guests or your hen is
important and you need to ensure everyone will have a good night and
can get involved. Also, be sure to invite guests that will please
the hen, you don’t want any arguments on the night; remember tip
number one, no stress!
3. Going Abroad:
If you’re planning on
going abroad for
the hen night, you should make sure that the arrangements for
travelling have been made and the accommodation at the destination
is also double-checked. The next thing you need to check is that all
the important stuff is packed and all the girls are ready to go for
an adventurous hen night.
4. Dressing Up:
To make the Hen Party even more interesting you could
theme the night using fancy dress costumes. There are literally
loads of ladies costume themes you could choose from, to save
money, you could try getting out some of your old clothes from back
in the day. However, this may prove a little tricky, as the idea of
having a theme is to make sure all the girls look the same. Also,
make sure that the Hen herself stands out from the crowd and is
wearing the infamous ‘L Plates’
along with all the other accessories so that everyone knows who
she is. If you’re still struggling for ideas then some of the more
popular themes people wear are; Pink Ladies from the film Grease,
cheerleaders, bunnies or if dressing up in fancy dress is not your
idea of a fun night, you could all just wear T-shirts which all have
a common message written on them. This is also a great way to help
personalize the night.
5. Make Memories:
Making the Hen Party as memorable as possible should
play a major role in your organisation. Make sure you take loads of
pictures; I’d suggest buying a disposable camera for everyone and
tell them to make sure they use up all the film, the more pictures
they take the better! Also most people will have a phone that can
record video, so try to and capture as much footage as possible. All
this can be used to
make a really cool montage video like this one, that the bride
will be able to show everyone. One other suggestion is to take along
a guest book so that everyone can write down funny quotes and tips
throughout the night to help the bride out in the future.
Knowing the hen is important and being mindful of
guests’ budget is another item you need to think about when planning
an eventful Hen Party, not everyone will be able to afford to attend
everything you do so be sure to check with people on how much
everyone can afford to spend first. By using these tips along with
some careful planning, you’ll be sure to have a great night.
